Based on the published articles from ICSSR-IMPRESS project, the book 'Opposition Space in West Bengal Politics' explores the opposition space in West Bengal politics. The book with eight distinct chapters seeks to examine the political space of opposition parties within the Assembly as well as outside Assembly politics. Its aim is to examine the electoral strength of opposition political parties vis-à-vis the ruling party in the different elections in West Bengal. The book analyses the role of violence in West Bengal politics. It aims to find out legal, political, structural and procedural constraints that prevent the opposition parties from effective performance of their role in West Bengal politics.
